Jalen Swain

Flag Technician/Instructional Staff

Jalen Swain resides in Columbia, MD and is a former public-school educator. He has involved himself in many aspects of the performance arts including concert choir, show choir, pop vocals, drama, musical theatre, marching band, dance, drum corps, and color guard.


Jalen’s marching career began during his senior year at Paint Branch High School in Montgomery County, MD playing the trombone. He then joined the World-Famous Towson University Marching Band and marched in the Low Brass section for four years, serving the last two as Marching SMAC. His color guard journey in 2016 with the Towson University Winter Guard. He continued this path to become a cast member of many guard ensembles including Emanon Winter Guard, Virtual Arts’ Virtual Marching Band, Fusion Winter Guard, and Fusion Core. As a guard educator, Jalen served as a volunteer instructor for the Loch Raven High School Marching Band in 2018 before returning to the TUMB in 2019 as a flag technician. He is currently the guard captain for the Howard High School Marching Band, Mt Hebron High School Marching Unit, and is also the Administrative Assistant and Director of Color Guard for the World-Famous Towson University Marching Band.
