A Florida native, David Flores brings a diverse background in the marching arts, music education, and performance to his role as Visual Caption Head at Fusion Core.

David’s drum corps experience includes marching as a tuba player with the Boston Crusaders (2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014), Sun Devils (2013), and Solaris (2015). He also marched bass drum with Marcato Indoor Percussion in 2013 and 2014, competing in WGI’s Independent Open class. His experience in both brass and percussion has provided him with a well-rounded perspective on musical and visual performance in the marching arts.

David studied music at Florida SouthWestern State College and has worked with various ensembles throughout Florida as an instructor and composer. He currently serves as a brass and visual instructor at Riverdale High School in Fort Myers, Florida. His performance background also includes appearances with brass quintets and the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra.

Since joining Fusion Core for its inaugural Florida season in 2025, David has served in multiple instructional leadership roles, including Acting Brass Caption Head in 2025 and Low Brass Lead in 2026. In these roles, he has helped develop the ensemble’s brass program while emphasizing technical proficiency, strong fundamentals, and consistent performance standards.

As Visual Caption Head, David is committed to establishing a strong foundation of movement technique, visual consistency, and performance excellence. His instructional philosophy emphasizes attention to detail, individual accountability, and developing confident, disciplined performers.

He looks forward to continuing his contributions to Fusion Core while helping the organization achieve new levels of excellence.
