Robert Solomon

Low Brass Technician

Rob is a native Rhode Islander who has been a North Florida resident since 2003. Rob developed an early passion for brass instruments while in elementary school, learning to play trumpet. When presented the opportunity to learn the tuba while in high school, Rob realized it was a perfect fit. Rob was a member of Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2006 and 2007 seasons and then with the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.


Rob attended Florida State College at Jacksonville and studied tuba under Dr. Paul Weikle. Currently Rob is a full-time member of the First Coast Wind Symphony and enjoys performing with chamber ensembles in the greater Jacksonville area. Rob is passionate about brass pedagogy and helping the next generation of tuba players. A low brass clinician since 2009, Rob has worked with programs such as; Orange Park HS, Ridgeview HS, Oakleaf HS, LaVilla School of the Arts, Fleming Island HS, Brunswick HS, Duncan U. Fletcher HS and Blue Valley Southwest HS and Sun Devils Drum and Bugle Corps
