Fusion Core is looking to be a partner in the music education of Percussion, Brass and Drum Major students interested in the marching arts. We have put together an educational program that harnesses the use of virtual platforms and online collaboration apps. The students will receive group lessons on a variety of different topics ranging from technique and fundamentals to more advanced technical work and challenging music learning. The program will offer students the chance to work with instructors from some of the best high school programs in the Tri-State Area. Including, but not limited to Passaic HS, Fair Lawn HS, Norwalk HS, Nutley HS, New Mildford HS and West Milford HS.
Sadly, due to the current state of the world, we are unable to continue to meet in person. We can never simulate the full drum corps experience online however we believe that there are some great advantages to the virtual platform that we can capitalize on. We can teach in some ways that you could never do in a live rehearsal. We are committed to providing you with the tools you will need to be successful whether you are looking to audition for DCI or DCA, or you are looking to enhance your music and arts education.
The course runs every other Saturday from May 15th to August 29th and will be conducted on Zoom. The course material can be found on corpsdata and the staff, admin and members will communicate via the BAND app. There is a one time initial fee of $25.00 for access to the lesson materials. Once you have paid that fee you will be able login onto corpsdata and download the technique book and any other material that we will be using throughout the program.
At just $25.00 per session, this virtual program will be available for a fraction of the cost of what a full DCA/DCI program would cost or even a one hour private lesson. Even though the competitive season has been put on hold, that’s no reason to stop doing what we love and keep bettering our skills. We are confident that you will appreciate the value that these courses have to offer.
Payments can be paid online on our website www.fusioncore.org. Once you make your initial payment, you will be able to access the material on corpsdata. After that, before each “virtual camp”, you will be required to pay your $25.00 fee to receive the ZOOM sign on info for the session. There are also some fun incentives that go along with being part of our virtual program, like the opportunity to purchase a special edition Core jacket. You will receive an invitation to attend the annual Core banquet and our 15 Year Gala celebration, once social distancing restrictions have been lifted.
