2020 Season Cancellation Relief Effort

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity, set to take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world. It’s a day when we can all come together and give back in all ways, no matter who or where we are.
Like many non-profit performing arts organizations, Fusion Core has felt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This crisis has resulted in the cancellation of all DCA sanctioned activities through the end of 2020, and all member corps have been affected.

As a result of the cancellation of the 2020 DCA circuit, Fusion Core has forgone all paid performance opportunities and a significant portion of member tuition this year. Member tuition not only covers the cost of travel, food, housing, and other necessities during the competitive season. The funds are also used to cover the cost of rehearsal facilities, servicing and storing equipment, Vehicle parking, insurance, staffing and other fixed costs that remain, regardless of whether we produce a show.
We truly believe that Fusion Core is more than a drum corps; it’s a family. We are hoping to emerge from this crisis in a financial position that will allow us to field a Core in 2021 which is our 15th year anniversary and bring to the field, a very special show. We know we will overcome adversity now the same way we always have; by believing in each other and working together toward a common goal.
Today, we are asking our Fusion Core Family, our extended Fusion Core family, drum corps associates and friends to consider supporting us as we work through this difficult time. We’ve set a fundraising goal of $20,000.
